Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tomball Christian HomeSchool). They breezed past the TMI-Episcopal Panthers to the tune of 52-21 on Friday. The Warriors pushed the score to 45-13 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers cut but never quite recovered from.

Tomball Christian HomeSchool’s win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaden Goodie, who rushed for 84 yards and one TD on only nine carries, and also picked up 36 receiving yards. Luke Harrison was another key player, picking up 124 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Wins are hard to come by when you can’t run the rock, something Tomball Christian HomeSchool proved: they limited TMI-Episcopal to a paltry 2.7 yards per carry. While two picked up at least two total tackles, Goodie stood above the rest. He rushed for 84 yards and one score on only nine carries, and also picked up 36 receiving yards. Tomball Christian HomeSchool didn’t have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.2.

Tomball Christian HomeSchool didn’t go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Ian StavinohaZephaniah Villagomez, and Kace Goodie picked up one apiece. Villagomez has been hot, having also posted five or more total tackles the last six times he’s played. Tomball Christian HomeSchool received some extra help from Harrison, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

TMI-Episcopal’s loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was JonMichael Raimondo, who picked up 67 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Another signal caller making a difference was Hagen Young, who threw for 314 yards and three touchdowns.

The victory got Tomball Christian HomeSchool back to even at 4-4. As for TMI-Episcopal, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tomball Christian HomeSchool will face off against Atlas HomeSchool at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will be up against the Rattlers’ rather soft defense (which has allowed 37.3 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for TMI-Episcopal, they will take on Somerset Academy Collegiate at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will be up against the Bears’ rather soft defense (which has allowed 53 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
