Football Game Preview: Tomball Christian HomeSchool Warriors vs. Columbus Crusaders
After both having extra time off, the Tomball Christian HomeSchool Warriors and Columbus Crusaders will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Tomball Christian HomeSchool blew Atlas HomeSchool out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Atlas HomeSchool got their revenge. The Warriors fell just short of the Rattlers by a score of 35-33. While the Warriors had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Rattlers 19-7.
Even if they lost, Tomball Christian HomeSchool’s defensive line still kept up the pressure with five sacks. In that department, Luke Harrison was the leader with three. Jacob Muhle was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 13 total tackles.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Tomball Christian HomeSchool, racking up 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Ian Stavinoha, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Columbus Crusaders entered their tilt with Osceola Grace Eagles last Saturday with nine consecutive wins but they’ll enter their next game with ten. They walked away with a 32-25 victory over the Oscee.
Tomball Christian HomeSchool better keep an eye on Ezekiel Bowie. He was instrumental in Columbus Crusaders’ win, rushing for 339 yards and three TDs while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. That’s the most rushing yards Bowie has posted since back in November of 2024.
Columbus Crusaders’ run defense was locked in: Osceola Grace Eagles could only muster one yards per carry. The team can thank Marcos Stoner for the heroic effort on defense: he. Columbus Crusaders didn’t have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.8.

Tomball Christian HomeSchool has been struggling recently as they’ve lost four of their last five contests. That’s put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. That patch can’t be blamed on the team’s offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.6 points over those games. As for Columbus Crusaders, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.
