2022 Football Coaches Announced
The TCW Coaches return from their Coaches Retreat in Montgomery refreshed and ready to move forward in the season. One of the goals for the organization this season is to build more vertical alignment from the Varsity Program down to the Flag Football Teams. The coaches have been working on what each position looks like for each level so we can further develop our athletes each year. Our Coaches are all Volunteers, giving up the most time in order to lead and develop our young men. Many but not all will have sons participating at various levels of the program.
Coach Criswell returns as head coach of the Varsity Program this year. All but two of the Varsity Coaches have returned this season. The Warriors are looking at taking that next step and have realigned their coaching staff.
Former San Francisco 49ers Defensive End, Coach Daryl Price returns as the Warriors Defensive Coordinator. Coaching with him, on the Defensive Line will be Jim Burke and Mark Simpson. Linebackers will be coached by Norm Morales and Tibor Cseszko. The secondary will be coached by Jason Anderson and Dawson Zbylot.
Our offense will see some changes this year under new Offensive Coordinator, Denis Cassidy who will also coach the QBs and running backs. Coaching with him, on the Offensive Line will be Jim Burke and Mark Simpson. The receivers will be coached by Jason Anderson and Dawson Zbylot. Chris Huard on the JV side will also be assisting with the receivers and secondary.
Special Teams will be led by Norm Morales and Heath Hippel.
During the offseason and spring ball JH Head Coach Chuck Gordon will be assisting with the linemen.
This season the Warriors are bringing in Quarterback Consultant, Coach Dick Olin. Coach Olin is considered the patriarch of Texas 7-on-7 and was recently inducted into the Texas Bowl Gridiron Legends (’01) and Southeast Texas Coaches Association Hall of Honor (’22)
Coach Danny Brietzke takes the reigns as JV Head Coach and special teams this season. Chris Huard takes over as the JV Offensive Coordinator this season and QB, Running Backs and Receivers coach. His offensive coaches include on the Offensive line, Jeff Wilson and Jim Gill.
On the Defensive Side of the ball we look to former JH Defensive Coordinator, Skeet Alderson. He will be joined on the Defense this season by Jim Gill, Defensive Line and Jeff Wilson, linebackers. Chris Huard will be coaching the secondary.
Long time JH Coach Bill Pellerin steps down this season and Chuck Gordon takes over as Head Coach. Coach Gordon was a 4 year starter at McNeese State University. Last year he served as the offensive line coach for the JH. His coaching staff currently consists of Kirk Yariger, Heath Hippel, Jacob Harrison, Doug Horton and Steve Watkins. Coach Gordon is looking to add 2 – 3 additional coaches this season.
Currently, Kirk Yariger will be the Offensive Coordinator and Jacob Harrison will serve as Defensive Coordinator. Heath Hippel will be working with the Receivers, Secondary and Special Teams. Doug Horton will be working with our offensive linemen. Steve Watkins will be working with our linebackers.
Flag Football
Coach of the Year Mike Ott returns as does Bill Barnes. With their first season under their belts we’re looking to keep the program growing.
