From the President: February Updates from the Board (Info/Registration Meetings, Open Board Positions)

We hope that everyone is doing well. Our second new family informational meeting is coming up on Tuesday Feb 8th at 7pm. It will be held at the Tomball Community Center. Thank you for sharing the last event with your circle of family and friends. It was great seeing so many new faces for both cheer and football as well as seeing some of the younger siblings ready to join our program. It’s a testament to the programs we have, the families and our future.
Please join me in Congratulating Senior Truman Goodwin! He has signed and committed to continue his academic and football career at the next level. He will be joining the NCAA Division II, Henderson State University in Arkansas as a Reddie. Check out our social media posts for the official announcement and we’ll be adding more to our website. We plan on celebrating Truman soon. Additional details to follow.
I’m writing to you this morning not only to invite you to share our event with others, and to join you in celebrating one of our athletes, but also as a call to those of you able to serve. As with any year this is a season of change. At the beginning of the year I shared with you openings on our Board that are in need of individuals to serve. We have two additional positions that we are also looking to fill. Our secretary, Kyla Magar will be leaving her board position as her family continues on their next chapter. She will remain to assist us as needed through the registration process. Also, our Volunteer Director, Barbara Wehmeyer, will be stepping down from the Board in March and not seek a new term. She will be joining our Cheerleaders on the field as an assistant coach. She is currently working to begin filling some key team mom positions as well as other leadership roles before March.
We can’t thank them and their families enough for their gift of serving our athletes and families over these last few years. They have sacrificed so much to ensure we offer the best programs and events for the homeschool community that can be found in all of Texas.
So to recap we are looking to fill the following Executive Board (voting) positions:
Vice President – 2 year of term
Secretary – remaining 1 year of term
Volunteer Director – New 2 Year term
And Non-voting staff position:
Assistant Treasurer

If you have already submitted your name for one of the positions but believe you are called to better serve in a different one please let us know. You can email me your biography and Testimony of Faith to President.TCW@gmail.com
I will forward the information to our committee and they will present all candidates to the board in the next couple of weeks. Ideally, we’d like to have those of you interested to submit your information by Feb 11th. This will allow the committee and Board to review and vote ahead of our Registration meetings on Feb 22nd and Mar 1st.
