About the Author Clare Alderson

On Thursday, September 7, The JV Warriors battled the Frassati Falcons. Tomball scored eight touchdowns, and three two-point conversions bringing the final score to 54-0. We were aggressive at the line, with speedy receivers and running backs. The Offense kept the ball moving and took advantage of every scoring opportunity. Our Defense was aggressive and kept the Falcons from scoring all night. Some of the key players were Caden Alderson, Jacob Muhle, Joshua Pippillion, Kaden Goodie, and Laurence Sentmanant.

The Warrior Offense was effective during this game. Joshua Pippillion, number 87, scored our first touchdown of the season on a sweep play, after a 36 yard run the play before. Quarterback, Caden Alderson ran the ball in for another touchdown. Pippillion scored the two point conversion on a counter, and later brought the warriors a touchdown on the same play. In the second quarter, Quarterback Alderson threw Sentmanant a touchdown pass. Kaden Goodie added the two-point conversion on a jet sweep. Kaden Goodie also scored his own touchdown on a screen from the 35 yard line. In the third quarter, defensive player, Hunter Black, blocked Frassati’s punt in their End Zone, before recovering the ball for a Warrior touchdown. On the last play of the game, backup QB, Steven Bailey, pitched to Sentmanant who ran straight through the middle for a 40 yard TD. The Warrior offensive had no trouble against the Falcon defense.

Defensively, the Tomball Warriors were physical and aggressive. In the first quarter Frassati was pushed to their two yard line and punted. Kaden Goodie returned a punt at the 40 yd line and ran back to the 2 yard line, allowing our offense to score the next play. Goodie also had an interception, returned for 22 yards. Jacob Muhle led the defense, with two tackles for a loss and two sacks. Laurence Sentmanant, Jake Schoenfeldt, Joshua Pippillion, Hunter Black, Lucas Freeman, Cole Cummings, and Henry Medlin also had tackles for a loss. Braedon Johns and Hunter Black had sacks. The Warrior defense stopped the Falcons from scoring the entire game.

The Warriors beat the Falcons 54-0. They were quick and hard hitting. Tomball played hard and achieved a great victory early on in the season. The JV Warriors’ next game is against Houston Christian, on September 14. After the Frassati game, I interviewed Caden Alderson, a captain and starting quarterback for the JV team.

Claire: What are the major reasons why we won today?
Caden: On offense, we were able to move the ball very effectively. Our D has great penetration through the entire game.
Claire: Who do you think excelled at the game?
Caden: My whole o-line played great, I was also very impressed with Kaden Goodie and Laurence Sentmanant.
Claire: How did we improve since last week?
Caden: This week we spread the ball out, and put it in the hands of our athletes, giving them a chance to make a play.
Claire: How can we improve for next week?
Caden: Next week, we have Houston Christian, who will be a tough, well coached opponent. We are going to have to play physically and follow our assignments, but we definitely can take it to them.
