Tomball Christian won the last time they faced KIPP Sunnyside, and things went their way on Friday too. The Tomball Christian HomeSchool Warriors were the clear victor by a 39-14 margin over KIPP Sunnyside. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-6.

One reason for the win was Tomball Christian HomeSchool’s imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Owen Wilkins was especially locked on to KIPP Sunnyside’s QB and sacked him twice. Jacob Muhle was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, making seven total tackles (3.0 for loss), and defending a pass.

Tomball Christian HomeSchool’s victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for KIPP Sunnyside, the defeat snapped their winning streak at 11 games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-1 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tomball Christian HomeSchool will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Boling at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tomball Christian HomeSchool is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. As for KIPP Sunnyside, they will venture away from home to take on Cypress Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
