I interviewed, eighth grader Fischer Bettis for the ninth part of our Get to Know the Eighth Graders series.
Claire: Do you have a pregame routine?
Fischer: Yes, I do. I just get mentally ready. I get in a quiet room and think about plays, and then I’ll stretch.
Claire: What do you listen to pregame?
Fischer: I guess like whatever gets you hyped up, like hype music.
Claire: What positions do you play?
Fischer: I play Defensive End.
Claire: What do you enjoy about those positions?
Fischer: I like it ‘cause it’s really easy to penetrate gaps.
Claire: How long have you been a part of TCW?
Fischer: This my first year.
Claire: How did you hear of TCW?
Fischer: My older brother played before.
Claire: What teammates stand out to you as good football players?
Fischer: Santi [Marroquin], Charlie Harrison, Silas [Rider], Jeremiah [Hernandez], Maddox [Obregon], and Nate [Schoenfeldt].
Claire: Do you have a favorite TCW related memory?
Fischer: Yeah I guess, when we had our first home game of the year. I got through the line and recovered a fumble.
Claire: Do you have any football nicknames?
Fischer: Bettis or Fish.
Claire: Where is your favorite place to eat after a game?
Fischer: Probably Cane’s.
Claire: Do you have any hobbies other than football?
Fischer: I do like to play baseball and music too. I play the guitar.
Claire: What is you favorite color?
Fischer: My favorite color is black.
Claire: What is you favorite school subject?
Fischer: Math
Claire: What do you love about football?
Fischer: I just love humanity, and everyone is encouraging.
Claire: What do you love about your team?
Fischer: Everyone knows each other and we all work together. We all get along.
