September 27, the Warriors beat Fort Bend for the first time in Warrior history. The final score was 24-0. Tomball was dominate on Defense with great performance from Jeremiah Wilkins and Owen Wilkins as well as DBs Bryson Zyblot and Trevor Parker. The Warriors forced key turn overs and kept the Eagles’ athletic Offense out of sync all night. The Warrior Offense found its stride toward the end of the first half and finished the first half with a 10-0 lead. Tomball scored their first touchdown with seconds remaining in the first half. During that drive the Warriors used a “hurry up” Offense with a key scramble by QB Caden Alderson, a great catch by WR Trevor Parker, and a touchdown run by RB Connor Burke. In the second half, the Offense scored two more touchdowns to place the game out of reach. The Warriors also continued a pattern of success on special teams with another long Field Goal by Daniel Abraham and a recovered onside kick.

Anthony Interview
Anthony has played for Tomball Christian since 2020, when he was a freshman. Anthony plans to play football in college and currently has two D3 offers, but is trying to play D2 instead.

What do you like about TCW?
Anthony: I like how everyone’s Christian based faith keeps this team as one brotherhood united. We hold each other accountable to a higher standard than everyone else.

Why do you play football?
Anthony: I’ve been playing football since I was six years old. I fell in love with it. Every time I’d watch football in the NFL and college. Every time I step on the field, its just like a different world, where I tune out everything else and just focus on the game.

What are your goals this year?
Anthony: This season I want double digit picks, hopefully 60 plus tackles, 4 fumbles, and obviously winning the Natty.

What do you think the team did well?
Anthony: Defense shut them down as the scoreboard can tell, 24-0. Man we had 5 turnovers, I think 5 picks, a couple maybe fumbles, I’m not sure. Defense wise yeah. Offense we struggled a bit, but the game went on we executed more and more. We drove down the field and scored.

Who do you think played well?
Anthony: I’d have to go with Bryson [Zyblot]. He got 2 or 3 picks. He just held us in the game. The offense did their thing as soon as Bryson got that turnover.

What do you think you did well?
Anthony: I forced a run inside. I held my containment. When I was in man coverage, the guys was just strapped.

Anthony’s Three Thoughtless Questions
If you were in a boy band, what would your boy band name be?

Anthony: The Mexican Maniacs

If you could give an animal wings, what animal would you choose?
Anthony: I’d say a turtle because they’re so slow. They could fly everywhere. You gotta give them something to keep up with.

If you made a football team, what mascot would you give your team?
Anthony: A prison mate, so we can have a shutdown defense. Whenever we get a turnover, the prison mate mascot would come over be locked up or put in a jail cell.

Caden Interview
Caden has been a Warrior since six grade, 2019. He is currently a junior and plans to play football in college.

What do you like about TCW?
Caden: TCW is great because it requires a different level of commitment. You’re not here because you’re zoned here or have a scholarship. You’re here because you want to be here. It’s the same with coaches. The coaches are here because they really care about us, not because they’re on the payroll. I think that different level of commitment throughout the program makes us great.

Why do you play football?
Caden: I play football because its by far the best sport. Football is unique because a single player cannot impact a game, but the whole team working in unison that wins football games. I feel like thats why its the best.

What are your goals this year?
Caden: I want to win-out the rest of the season. I would really us to win, and I think we can win the National Title. Probably play some Defense.

What do you think the team did well?
Caden: We did a great job adjusting to the other team. Fort Bend is a very physical opponent, but we did a good job recognizing their weaknesses and exploiting them. Our O-Line played great again. We had several athletes just make plays.

Who do you think played well?
Caden: First of all, all the Offensive Linemen, whether they were thrown out or not, all of them. Then I’d say Jeremiah Wilkins. On Offensive, you never see him, he’s a Blocking Back, but he’s the reason we scored two touchdowns. On Defense, Jeremiah had a great game. The I’d say Trevor [Parker] just a great athlete. He made a couple really really good plays on both sides of the ball.

What do you think you did well?

Caden: I feel like a did a good job of recognizing their defense. We really worked on that at practice. Coach Huard really helped me with that. We had Coach Harrison on the sideline giving me some calls. We did a god job at seeing what they were doing and taking what they gave us.

Caden’s Three Thoughtless Questions
If you named a country what would you name it?
Caden: Texas, why not?

If you were a superhero what would your superhero pet be?
Caden: I don’t know either a lunatic squirrel with a jetpack, I feel like that could be exciting, or a flying shark with laser eyes.

What’s your favorite letter of the alphabet?
Caden: C, ‘cause it stands for Caden.
